GENERAL INFORMATION
The Sharon Playhouse is a 340 seat, Equity SPT-6 Theater, approximately 95 miles from NYC. The Playhouse also includes the Bok Gallery, used for rehearsals, classes and performances, as well as The Patio & Bar where our audiences gather. The Playhouse is equipped with professionally equipped scenic and costume shops, as well as offices for production planning.
Every year the Sharon Playhouse hires a company of performers, made up of both Equity and non-Equity, local and non-local professionals.

2025 SEASON AUDITIONS!
The Sharon Playhouse will cast the 2025 season from in-person auditions to be held both in Sharon CT and in New York City as outlined on this page. Virtual or taped auditions will be accepted and viewed when made by request ONLY.
All audition information is provided on this site. Please do not submit unsolicited video auditions, headshots or resumes. Please do not call or email.
LOCAL AUDITIONS - SHARON, CT
Local Auditions at the Sharon Playhouse are open to those who can provide their own housing and transportation for all rehearsals and performances. If you cannot provide proof of local housing, please do not attend this call. Members of Actor’s Equity and non-union actors of all ethnicities and gender identities are welcome to audition for roles that are available.
Auditions will take place at the Sharon Playhouse (49 Amenia Road, Sharon, CT 06069) in The Bok as follows, by appointment only.
Those auditioning must sign up for a 5-minute time slot. During the 5-minute time slot, auditioners are asked to present 16 bars of a musical theater song for the musical and/or a 1-minute monologue for the plays. During the 5-minute time slot, auditioners may be invited to attend the dance call on 2/23 (for Youth & Teens) or 3/1 (for Adults). If the panel would like to see more, you will be notified via email with an invitation to attend Callbacks on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Kids and teens ages 8-20 can audition for our family-friendly MainStage production of Annie!
Key Details:
Commitment Dates: Tuesday, July 8 – Sunday, August 10.
Participation Fee: $300 if cast in the MainStage production of Annie.
Overlap Policy: Kids/Teens cannot participate in Finding Nemo, Jr. or The Great Amusement Park Mystery! if cast in Annie, as the schedules conflict.
If cast in both, you can choose which show you’d like to participate in.
If you choose the MainStage production of Annie, after registering for a YouthStage production, you will receive a reimbursement for YouthStage tuition.

General Rehearsal Details:
If you are cast, please note that rehearsals for each production will run 6 days per week with Mondays off (The Launchpad Company will likely take Sundays off). Exact rehearsal times are TBD, but an overall availability during the rehearsal period from 10AM to 6PM is expected and required.

Housing & Transportation Requirements:
This audition is limited to candidates who live within a daily commutable distance to the Sharon Playhouse, for all rehearsals and performances.
